Head Coach 2002 -2004 Boys

Coach Brent developed Southern Premier Soccer (SPS) Club due to a continued need for an Elite Level Soccer training environment in middle Tennessee and surrounding areas.
Every member of the Club is trained with Coach Brent’s developmental methodology, based upon his experience playing and coaching in Germany, along with his UEFA-Pro license qualifications, which is required to manage a team in the European Champions League and Europa League. This training translates to the highest quality individual development and team play available to your player.
  • Former USA National Team and Olympic Player 1986-1990
  • 1987 USA Soccer Athlete of the Year

  • In 2018, he was honored with the Walt Chysowych Distinguished Playing Career Award for his efforts on the 1989 U.S. Futsal team, which was the first U.S. Team (Men or Women) in U.S. Soccer history to capture a medal in FIFA competition.

  • First American-born soccer player to play in England

  • Played 10 years in the German Bundesliga

  • Retired from playing after a broken leg and moved into an assistant coach role in Bundesliga 3 at SV Elversberg and then three years later, promote to become the first American born head coach at this level in German Football history

  • Coach Brent has acquired the German Fusball Lehrer License (UEFA-Pro) which is the highest coaching certification world-wide and requires an invitation to pursue. He is the first American born coach to receive this license

  • 2012 Nashville Metros USL Team Coach and led the team to their first winning season in a decade

Head Coach 2005 - 2007 Boys & Girls

Coach Stephen played in college at Santa Monica College and California State University Northridge. He further played at the semi-pro level for Los Angeles Soccer Club. He has spent the last five years working alongside Coach Brent, learning the intricacies of the SPS player development methodology. He holds a D-License .

Jeff Dial

Head Coach 2003/2004 Girls

Coach Jeff has spent a lifetime involved with the beautiful game. He has been a coach with Southern Premier soccer for the past  three years.  During that time, he, and Coach Goulet have laid the foundations of desired playing style and technical focus within our ladies teams.

Michael Adams

Head Coach 2008 Girls

Soccer has been a part of his life for 35 years. He played club soccer growing up in Memphis, TN and school soccer for Germantown High where he was named his team's Student Athlete as a Senior. He became a referee as a teenager and has coached youth soccer for the last 8 years in Williamson
County. In the summer of 2018, he coached our '08 Girls to the 3v3 Live Silver Division #2 ranked team in the standings. Having recently completed US Soccer's Grassroots Coaching 9v9 course, he continues to pursue his coaching education at Southern Premier Soccer.

Morghen Vaughan

Assistant Coach

Morghen played Division 1 travel soccer all through middle school and high school for MSC and Sporting Nashville. Morghen also trained under Brent Goulet personally, and as a part of RISE academy. Morghen began to coach under Brent towards the end of his high school career and is currently being mentored by him. Morghen holds a D-License.  

Chris Layden

Assistant Coach

Chris holds a D License with U.S. Soccer and is working to obtain his C License in the next year. He has been a passionate player of the game for 40 years, even playing during his time serving in the United States Army. Chris captained his U.S. Army soccer team in South Korea to a 3rd place finish out of 200 teams. More recently, Chris coached recreation soccer for six years before stepping up to the club soccer stage with Southern Premier Soccer in 2018. He assists with all SPS teams to fine tune his coaching style in the SPS methodology and is currently the Assistant Coach for the 06 Boys team.

Jonathan Clarke

Assistant Coach & Goalie Coach

Jonathan grew up playing travel soccer in North Carolina and in Tennessee, including playing for Brentwood High School. His playing career consisted of state championships in both NC and TN, making the state ODP team, and he was named to the All-Region team at BHS. Jonathan has coached youth soccer for 7 years in recreational leagues as well as multiple travel clubs in the Middle TN area.  He carries the USSF National E-License and completed the United Soccer Coaches’ Goalkeeper I Diploma.  He is passionate about teaching a love of the game, helping players develop their skills, and to build their character.
